Police arrest two in burglary spree that lasted two months

 

   Police arrested two Mountain Lodge Park men yesterday for allegedly committing a string of
burglaries spanning a two-month period here, officials said.
   Detective Sgt. John Heppes said James Ryan Bawn, 22, and Clayton L. Jones Jr., 32, stole
tools, lanterns, propane heaters and beer.
   On Jan. 15, the duo allegedly burglarized a trailer off Clove Road and Allstate Interiors on
Route 208. Then on Feb. 22, Bawn and Jones struck again, stealing a 12-pack of Heineken beer
from the Mobil on the Run on Route 208 in Monroe and more than $1,000 worth of tools from
Nebrasky Plumbing on Route 17M, Heppes said. The duo also vandalized Nebrasky vehicles,
police said.
   Blooming Grove, Monroe and New York State Police recovered the stolen items when they
executed search warrants at Bawn's and Jones' houses yesterday, police said.
   Bawn and Jones were each charged with second- and third-degree burglary, third-degree
criminal mischief, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property,
all felonies, and misdemeanor petty larceny, police said. Jones was also wanted on a
warrant in Tuxedo for grand theft, officials said.
   Bawn's 32-year-old brother, George, was also arrested yesterday but charged only with fourth-
degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony
   Police said George T. Bawn stole a Honda dirt bike in September from a home in the City of
 Newburgh.
