Originally the Internet was designed by the government, to
provide a communications network
that would function in the event that some of the sites were destroyed by
nuclear attack
If the most direct route was not available,
routers would direct traffic around the network via alternate routes.
The early Internet was used by computer experts,
engineers, scientists, and librarians.
It was not user friendly as we know it today. There were no
home or office personal computers in those days,
and anyone who used it, whether a computer professional or an engineer or
scientist or librarian,
had to learn to use a very complex system.
Since the Internet was initially funded by the
government, originally it's use was limited to research,
education, and government uses. Commercial uses were prohibited unless
they directly served
the goals of education and research.
This policy continued until the early 90's, when independent commercial
networks began to grow.
Today we have computers at home,
available in malls, internet cafes' and just about everywhere. We
pay
our bills online, do our banking and now shopping online has become common
place As you and I both know
people are generally decent and honest, however there are people out there
that do not live with our same
standards of honesty and integrity.
At one time or another you yourself, a friend or
someone in your family may be the victim of internet fraud.
I have supplied two links in the event you are a victim.
Take the time out to report it!
Report it for two reasons;
first the fraud committed against you has a chance of being rectified and
you may get some form of relief and secondly, you prevent the fraudulent
company from committing
a fraud against someone else in the future.

One last thing to remember!
If you have been the victim of an internet fraud, you should immediately
run and continue to
monitor your credit history for a period of six months by getting a credit
report from any of the three
companies below. If you contact the company direct and advise them
that you have been a victim
of an internet fraud, you may be eligible to receive your first credit
report free of charge.
