A potentially tragic
situation was averted when a man was charged with threatening
his wife with a gun. At approximately 2:30 a.m. Orange County 911 received
a call
regarding a man threatening his wife with a shotgun outside their home.

the home
shortly afterwards and secured the area.
While police were assessing the situation, the suspect's wife emerged from
the
house and ran to a neighbor's home. Her husband then entered the
neighbors'
residence. On his way back to his house, Blooming Grove Officers
Brett Weeden and Ron Moraski wrestled
the suspect to the ground.
Blooming Grove Police charged the husband
with
third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless
endangerment,
and first-degree unlawful imprisonment all felonies. He was also charged
with seven counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a
weapon, menacing, and resisting arrest.
