A convicted rapist living in the Camp La Guardia homeless
shelter has been charged with trespassing for leaping over a
fence about 11:45 Sunday into a backyard on Seely Road,
Blooming Grove police said yesterday.

Tyrone Funches jumped back onto Camp La Guardia property
when the homeowner spotted him, but he was later identified
and charged with trespassing, a misdemeanor. He was being
held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.

Police also charged the 42-year-old with two other
misdemeanors for failing to register in New York as a sex
offender when he moved to the state. Their investigation
showed that Funches was a registered sex offender in
California because of a 1989 rape conviction.
