Blooming Grove - An 18-year-old Blooming Grove resident turned himself into police after an altercation Sunday morning, in which he fired a handgun, apparently as a threat to a group of adversaries. Blooming Grove Detective Brett Weeden said the suspect, whose name was not released, and two friends confronted three other teens at 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the yard of an Orchard Lake Drive residence. The suspect fought with one of the opposing teenagers, before taking out a . 45-caliber handgun and firing it four times, apparently aiming the gun toward the ground. No one was injured, and all the teens ran away before police arrived. The suspect turned himself in one day later through his attorney. He was arraigned before Justice Stephen Smith and sent to Orange County Jail, in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. The investigation is continuing. |
