Blooming Grove SUV rollover injures 38-year-old woman |
|
The driver of an SUV that flipped over on Bull Mine Road in Blooming Grove remained in stable but guarded condition yesterday as police investigated the reason she lost control of her vehicle. Officers found 38-year-old Blooming Grove resident Anisa Jones strapped in by her seat belt and hanging upside-down after her 2003 Ford Escape overturned after hitting an embankment. Police said the accident occurred at 9:30 a.m., when Jones lost control of her SUV after turning right from Catherine Court onto Bull Mine Road. The vehicle slid into the left-side gully of Bull Mine Road, hit a mailbox, then slid back across the street, where it hit an embankment as well as a tree before flipping over and landing on its roof. A helicopter transported her to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Blooming Grove Detective Sgt. John Heppes said officers visited Jones in the hospital to find her fading in and out of consciousness but said that she did not appear to have been seriously injured. |
