Cops say beer given to minor, resulting in a fatal car crash

A 21-year-old Rock Tavern man was arrested for allegedly buying two 20-packs of Budweiser beer for teenagers,
Blooming Grove police said.
Frederick A. Boccard Jr. was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child, a
misdemeanor, said Detective Sgt. John Heppes.
Heppes said Boccard bought three 20-packs of Budweiser bottles on Feb. 5 at a Washingtonville convenience
store. He kept one pack of beer for himself and gave away the other two to minors, Heppes said.
Police said that speed and alcohol contributed to the cause of the accident.
Boccard is not being charged with any crimes in connection with Purcell's car crash or his death, Heppes said.
