Blooming Grove Man tries to kill woman

Police say they’re looking for a young man who forced his way into a Mountain Lodge Park home early yesterday and tried to smother a woman sleeping there. The 40-year-old victim awoke at 1:40 a.m. to find a white man in his late teens or early 20s pressing a pillow over her face, Blooming Grove police Detective Brett Weeden said. The burglar fled when the woman screamed and struggled. State and town police are collaborating on an investigation.
