At
least two Blooming Grove teen-agers broke into and ransacked two
unfinished homes
Wednesday night, causing more than $5,000 in damage, town police said yesterday.
After
entering the new colonial-style houses on Woodcock Mountain Road, police said,
the suspects smashed windows,
broke doors and kicked in wallboard.
At 11:30 p.m., police said, they got a call from a witness. Officers
responded
and caught a 19-year-old
as he tried to flee. Washingtonville police also responded.
A 17-year-old, who investigators said was involved with the mischief,
was arrested
yesterday and accused
of assaulting his mother, police said.
Both suspects were charged
with second-degree burglary
and criminal mischief, both felonies.
They were sent to Orange County Jail, where they were being held
pending a court appearance.
