Local Clooney coverage goes global

Just remember, you read about it here first!

Much to the chagrin of Record online responders demanding
"real news," George Clooney's visit to our little Town of
Blooming Grove is making headlines, nationally and
internationally

Page 23 in the March 20th issue of "People" features three
Times Herald-Record pictures taken by staff photographer
Tom Bushey while Clooney was here filming "Michael Clayton":
Clooney with Ines McConnell and her 1 1/2 year-old daughter
Julia, a stand-alone of Clooney and a shot of him signing
photos of himself at the Blooming Grove Fire House, where he
ate lunch one day.

The story, "Big Guy In Town," also recaps previously reported
tales of Clooney's stay at the Newburgh Ramada Inn and the
scene he shot with Jon Stewart for the Oscars. Plus it quotes
yours truly.

And yesterday, Photo Editor Joan K. Rosen received a call from
Hamburg-based weekly magazine Der Spiegel, which, with
about a million readers, is the biggest weekly magazine in
Europe.

What'd they want?

Clooney.
