Blooming Grove

Camp resident arrested on escape warrant

Police apprehended a fugitive yesterday who had been living at Camp La Guardia, a homeless
shelter, since September.
Edward C. Bradford, 55, escaped Aug. 22 from a halfway house in Suffolk County, Mass.,
where he was finishing the last few months of a jail sentence for burglary, Blooming Grove police
Detective Sgt. John Heppes said.
Massachusetts authorities notified New York City police that Bradford, wanted for escape, was
living in one of the city's Department of Homeless Services facilities. The New York Police
Department in turn notified Blooming Grove officials.
Camp La Guardia police helped Blooming Grove officers locate Bradford, who did not resist
arrest when he was apprehended on Gray Court Road outside the camp, Heppes said.
He was sent to Orange County Jail without bail, Heppes said.
