Blooming Grove - Blooming Grove police arrested and charged two 18-year-old men
yesterday in connection with a string of more than a dozen incidents of vandalism to cars
and homes earlier this week.
Lance Taylor, who lives in Mountain Lodge Park, and an accomplice whom police would
not identify were charged with 16 counts each of third-degree criminal mischief, felonies,
and one count each of fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, police said.
Taylor and the other man drove around town and used a BB gun to shoot at cars and the
glass front door of a house overnight Monday, said Detective Brett Weeden. The targets,
in South Blooming Grove, Mountain Lodge Park and Orchard Park, appear to have been
chosen at random, Weeden said.
Taylor was sent to Orange County Jail on $10,000 bail. His accomplice was sent to jail
on $250 bail. Police did not identify Taylor’s accomplice because he qualifies for
youthful offender status.
